Admission Requirements

Candidates for the NucPhys EMJMD must hold:

  • A university qualification corresponding to bachelor in Physics according to the Bologna framework. Majors in related areas as Chemistry, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or similar or any other kind of scientist or engineer with a background related to the objective of the NucPhys EMJMD can be considered as elective candidates but with lower preference.
  • Language skills: English, candidates from countries where English is not one of the official languages, must demonstrate their knowledge of English by proving that they have received their education in English or with a certified language level equivalent to B2 using the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

    - TOEFL test: minimum score 78 (210 computer-based/547 paper-based test)
    - IELTS test: minimum score 6.0, at least 5.7 on each sub-score (Academic test and not the General one!)
    - Cambridge International Examinations: FCE level B2 with minimum score 72.

    Only students who had their bachelor education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia do not need to send in an English language test.

  • Commitment in writing to full-time study for the two-year period of the Masters Course.

If a candidate is in process of obtaining the Bachelor degree, applicant can apply for the admission. Applicant has to present a letter, written by the university stating the expected date of graduation and a detail transcript of records. Applicant has to present all the other documents required.

Other official proof could be admitted, at least according to the B2 level of the European reference scheme for language skills, (PDF format preferred).

Exception: Candidate from English speaking countries or candidate who completed his/her bachelor degree in English as medium of instruction must provide an official letter from his/her university from which he/she graduated attesting that English is the media of instruction (PDF format preferred).

RULES FROM EACEA:

  • a residence certificate issued in accordance with the candidate's municipality normal registration rules;
  • a certificate from the candidate's place of work, study or training issued by the employer or institution in question.

Both documents must have been issued within 12 months before the EMMC student scholarship submission deadline, i.e. the consortium's official deadline for student selection.

Those candidates for the Master who meet the Admission Requirements will be ranked with a maximum score of 100 according to the items given in the label SELECTION PROCEDURE.
